Wessai Power

Two of my kids are not interested in living in Waimea. Too hot, they say.

True. But over the years I have enjoyed finding uses for our climate. Betta splendens like 90 degree water and reproduced for me- resulting in some nice show fish that won awards in the mainland.

The recently-installed solar water heater has been working nicely and reducing my gas bill dramatically.

But today is the start of something even cooler- in a matter of speaking.

Today our photovoltaic system is being installed.
More later. Gotta run to the Waimea High School  Year-End Recognition.

The system is not as large as I thought it would be. Does it work well for you?

From what I understand there are no federal regulations about installations. The technology is so new.

I dunno about Feds but you have to get a building permit and have inspections.

Very cool! I've wanted to use a solar power system since the 70's. Never got there. Just going to use the sun here in Hawai'i...dry clothes on a rack, heat water in a solar shower bladder, solar lights on the lanai (which can be brought in the house during a power outage)... Congrats!!!
