Today we celebrate the Birth of Bahá'u'lláh

November 12, 1817- the Prophet-Founder of the Bahá'í Faith was born.

Basic Teachings of Bahá'u'lláh

Bahá'u'lláh taught that there is one God whose successive revelations of His will to humanity have been the chief civilizing force in history. The agents of this process have been the Divine Messengers whom people have seen chiefly as the founders of separate religious systems but whose common purpose has been to bring the human race to spiritual and moral maturity.
Humanity is now coming of age. It is this that makes possible the unification of the human family and the building of a peaceful, global society. Among the principles which the Bahá'í Faith promotes as vital to the achievement of this goal are
Here is a video about Bahá'u'lláh:

Information on the continued persecution of Bahá'ís in Iran.

Response of the President of Iran about the persecutions.

To lighten the mood a bit- hail to some of my fellow Bahá'í artists.

Liz, who introduced you to the Bahai faith? Are your sons Bahai, too?

How long have you belonged to this faith?

You are the only one I know who is Bahai.

gigi- I first heard about the Baha'i Faith in high school - a few months after I declared myself an agnostic after a frustrating year at a missionary-run school overseas.
I fought my distaste for "organized religion" and ended up admitting that I believed Baha'u'llah was who He said He was in June of 1967.

My kids, like all people, have their own beliefs as a result of their own personal searches.

For me, we are all members of the same human family and I don't make much distinction between those who call themselves Baha'i and those who don't - as far as friends are concerned. I'm attracted (or not attracted) to individual character.

What I learn from the Baha'i Faith is a long-range vision of the destiny of humanity; an insight into what human beings are and can become; how to identify artificial barriers to unity and peace; and an approach to overcoming hardships to find contentment in service to humanity.
But that's just me... and I have only begun...

To each his own. Hey, if Bahai satisfies you, all power to you! Lucky you live Hawaii and don't face persecution as in other areas of the world.
