Waimea Rains

While the water in the town started to recede this morning, the occasionally torrential rain began to threaten my house. My sons went out to create a barrier to protect the back door and rooms and dig a small trench to allow the water to flow to the storm drain on the street.
While they worked, we heard of a tornado warning in the Hanapepe area!
As you can see by the Doppler image, more rains are coming.

Yikes! I hope your house is spared, Liz. So far, so good at our home. It's raining cats and dogs right now.
Did your event get called off today? Looks like the storm is coming to Oahu again too!
When the rain let up a little, Stevo just fixed our trench- away from the neighbor's lot and down our side.
The Aiea craft fair was not called off. The weather cooperated until 2:15 pm, when it rained cats and dogs. I left at 2:30 as scheduled.
