For the Birds

Spring has sprung in Oregon and that means Lilu is enjoying the beauty of nature, the great outdoors, flowers, plants, home improvement and fine, feathered and downy friends!

The chicks are various breeds and have names like Brownie, Sugar and Sweet Cheeks...

Licorice, Cinnamon and Sweetie Pie. They are different breeds including Buff Orpington, Americauna, Rhode Island Red,  Gold-laced Wyandotte, Cuckoo Maran and Barred Plymouth Rock. The hummingbirds are out and the bird feeders are visited regularly by goldfinches, grosbeaks, juncoes, nuthatches, squirrels and chipmunks

Lilu sits with K-Paw and waves at mommy- and joins Simone who just planted a Japanese climbing hydrangea for Lilu!

Oh, and by the way, Michele called last night to share Lilu's first spoken word (besides "OKAY" when she was a couple days old).
Lilu was getting dressed in the shirt I got her in Australia. She pointed at the animal on the front and mommy said "kangaroo". Lilu signed for "dog". Mommy repeated "kang-a-roo" several times. Lilu said: "way-wa-woo".
When daddy came home, she did it again, "way-wa-woo".
Hah! Lilu's first word has three syllables - my little "Baba Wawa" !

Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha!

I named a riend's pet rabbit Dinner. We had it in for dinner when it was about 8 months old.

After that it stayed in its pen outside because it kept nibbling on the wires.
