Mahalo, West Kauai Rotary
There are a couple of true-isms that I have discovered in life.
One is: Efforts made to serve others lead to rewards far greater than any sacrifices made.
Just a few years ago, I was a struggling single mom that had to give up membership in Rotary for awhile because of hard times in many ways.
A year ago, I started my term as President of the West Kauai Rotary Club. Along with that responsibility and commitment came unprecedented (relative) prosperity and opportunities that enabled me to fulfill my duties in spite of troubled times for much of the world.
Today we held our change of gavel meeting on the beautiful lanai of Shenanigans at the Pacific Missile Range Facility at Barking Sands.
Mahalo to all the wonderful members who contributed their time, spirit and resources to "Make Dreams Real" last year!
AG Nancy emerged the ultimate victor and President Kelly rang the bell to close a wonderful and very special meeting!

I rang the bell for the last time. Our new President Kelly Liberatore presented me with a beautiful plaque treasure in remembrance of my Presidential year. Assistant Governor Nancy Kanna swore in the new officers and directors of our club.
The food was varied and delicious.Fellowship was lively and somewhat centered around giving! Happy dollars flowed!
The lucky joker was ever-elusive and Leland Tottori did his best to prolong the drama!

Yes, I hear membership in Rotary can be expensive. $200 or more?

off-topic, but congrats on your CB5 and redskins blog shout-outs!
Bravo on a successful year as Rotary President, Liz! Looks like you really stretched yourself by accepting the position and then pushed yourself during your tenure.

A hair over a week to go! Whoo-hoo!
