Betta splendens
A few years ago I bred and showed Betta splendens- commonly known as Siamese fighting fish or just plain Bettas.
A few weeks ago, I asked a fellow breeder from California for some "pet fish" to enjoy. Haha... she sent me some BEAUTIFUL fish and a female... knowing I couldn't resist trying to spawn them. Well, Larissa, I hope you are happy now... LOL!
The soft white areas are the eggs between the bubbles.
Now I have to start hatching baby brine shrimp!

Wonderful video! I love how clear the filming is, and the fish are having a grand old time. ^^ Delightful to see the female helping the male out on picking up the eggs. And such a large nest! Successful spawn, yay! :-D
So is the bigger, fancier fish the female?
Soporific. Fish make me sleepy.
I agree with GG! Watching fish relaxes me. Read somewhere that watching fish has that effect on people. I wonder why that is.
They are quite hypnotic.
The bigger-finned fish is the male. Most people never see a female Betta.
I have enjoyed fish since I was a small kid raising guppies in our warm kitchen in Wisconsin.
Hope these babies turn out as nice as their parents!
nice..my fry already 2 weeks.. :)
