AVATAR

I have seen this movie only twice. The third time will be tonight at the Kekaha Federal Credit Union annual meeting at the Waimea Theatre.

Besides being a cinematic experience (better in 3-D, I am told). it brings me back to memories of enjoyable moments in my cinematic past.

Here is the setting:

The themes evoke Dances with Wolves meets Aliens and Terminator in The Abyss.
The characters are familiar and welcomed. Yes, I am a James Cameron fan.

Horner's score is marvelous with musical homages to Titanic, Troy and his many other wonderful compositions. I am buying the album on iTunes, even as I type this.

The technology created to make this film is wonderful- loved seeing international collaborations among some of our best artists- like ILM, Weta and the Stan Winston gang.

Most of all, I loved being able to see life through fresh eyes able to recognize the unity of created beings in their expression of connection with their Creator.

How many of us are willing to step away from the customary unnecessary violence of domination and greed and see everything as harmonious and One?

David saw Avatar in 3D at the Imax Theater and loved it. But I don't like special effects as they make me dizzy, so I don't plan to see it.

Avatar in 3-D was awesome! The 3-D IMAX version was sold out for the next five days when I had the day off. Should have planned ahead and purchased my tickets early. The story is very familiar and the offering of hope and redemption was so powerful.

I wonder how good the DVD in 3-D will be?

Did you hear about the 4-D Avatar in South Korea? That would be so cool!!!

Huh?

Liz, the question was directed to you. Didn't you go to the 3-D version of Avatar earlier on the weekend?

Or were you speaking to someone else? If so, oops.
