Wings of Eagles - or Proud Auntie Liz
My sister writes:
We are sending this missive with a few pics out (hopefully not embarassing Doug and Steff too much), but he, with Steffs faithful support, has just completed one of the most arduous 2yrs of military training that has led to his achieving his Naval Aviator Wings and was "winged" this past Friday at the Naval Air Station, located in Meridian, Mississippi, where the Navy trains its jet pilots. His training covered all the basics of jet flight, instrument flying, formation flying, cross country flying, dropping ordinance (bombs), guns, air to air combat (dogfighting), and actual aircraft carrier landing (traps) and taking off (catshots) of aircraft carriers....blah blah blah...
Doug is off now to Lemoore, California to receive more training in the latest F-18, "super Hornet", which will be aircraft carrier based.
Congratulations to both Doug and Steff for this outstanding accomplishment."
Grandma Susan (my mom) couldn't be prouder! I'll get to visit her and my sis and family on the way to the Warriors game at the Swamp this August!
