Blast from the past

Most of our childhood pictures are gone with our homes during the great family upheaval of 1965. (I did not think they would not be in the attic forever and left them behind when I went for a "visit" to Korea.)
But I did take one album that had my 8th grade graduation, my penpals, and some of our horse-capades.

Here are a few from Eighth Grade Graduation:

Dennison Jr. High, Lake Geneva, WI. Graduation Ceremony and then cake at my girlfriend's house. That's my sister Norma at the table.

My girlfriend Marilyn is an accomplished musician. She could play the piano way better than I and played flute, piccolo and fife in band. The handsome man on the piano bench with us is our (swoon!) teacher Larry Tippery (I think that's his name) who came to the party. And the gentleman on the couch is my dad. My #3 son, and namesake, resembles him strongly.

Nice party. Too bad you left behind the rest of your collection. It's always fun to go down memory lane.

You still have the same smile.

Now if i were to put my hands on a girl's waist like your piano teacher did I would lose my job or worse be arrested. Too many strange people around now.

Cool that you were able to save one photo album. My niece was cracking up last summer when she found my baby pictures. She thought they were so funny! HA!

Yup things are very different. Mr. Tippery was a school teacher - not piano. That was Mrs. O'Leary. Imagine Maggie Smith in her snootiest role. At 7-12 years old, I did not want to hold my wrists up nice and pretty and do scales.

Probably why Marilyn could play rings around me!
