Community Service - the Movie
Immediate Past-President of the Rotary Club of Poipu Beach Roberta Charles is pretty amazing.
After a stellar year, even in this troubled economic time, she and her club, with help from County and corporate sponsors, put on a wonderful free movie in the park last night for the people of Kauai.
When the movie was finished, volunteers put the Park back to spic and span shape.

Movies in the Park provided an educational as well as entertaining evening for all.
The movie was TRANSFORMERS. The picture quality and sound was excellent!
I really enjoyed the movie- and the Redskins Portis jersey! Koloa School volunteers provided reasonably-priced snacks and food and the ever-popular light sticks.
When the movie was finished, volunteers put the Park back to spic and span shape.
Next movie- JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH in 3-D -August 21.

Oahu has something similar called Sunset at the Beach -- not only at Waikiki Beach but also other parts of the island.
Cool movie!
The outdoor venues are all over the place. Where I live the city puts on a weekly movie at the local park. Showtime is 9:30 or 10 in the evening! Sadly, they are not run as a way for local schools/non-profits to make some extra cash -- the city sells the food.
Still, well attended, though.
I guess free is always an attraction to people.
