Gracious

Gracious is the word I associate with Colt Brennan.

On the field, guiding the University of Hawaii to two of the best football seasons in history

and his preseason rookie debut with the NFL Washington Redskins last year it was GOOD GRACIOUS!

Check out his snap-passes during this fun segment with Antwaan Randel-El and the Redskins recievers.

Off the field, he appears cordial from afar.

In person, he is Mr. Gracious.
Observation: Colt is a focused person. When he is doing something, he is in the moment. On the field, he does his job until coach tells him to sit down or they have to carry him off. Off the field, at a fan appreciation function, he is 100% there for you as a fan until his managers gently escort him to the next spot.

Outstanding. Gracious. Generous. Humble. Just another local boy whose parents brought him up right.
Kudos to Betsy and Terry Brennan- and his sisters!

++++++++

I actually was privileged to meet MANY gracious people on Thursday:

Governor Lingle at the Chamber luncheon, Ashley Lelie, Davone Bess

Ryan Mouton, the Tsai-kos,  3 generations of McMackins

Stephen Tsai and Coach Mack, chief blog lurker and Chevron sponsor, and Go! flight attendant  Patrick and a pilot- without whom, I would have been stuck on Kauai.
More pix on my PICASA ALBUM.

Good photos of a great time! I am glad you had the opportunity to attend the function!

What was the best part for you?

Best part was meeting Colt and watching him work.
Even signing autographs- he is focused on what he is doing and does it well. In the video you can see him respond to Slugger. She is aware that we have had him to ourselves for a relatively long time but he insists on signing everything now to get the job done and leave happy and satisfied fans in his wake!

I am normally not a signature seeker but this day was very special (I really wanted to get things together to give to Midnight for his kindness) and my photographer's "get the shot when the opportunity presents" instinct took over.

Speaking of photography.

Is that your photography website -- LizKauai? If it is, there is some awesome work displayed there!

That is so awesome that you got to meet Colt. I live in Ashburn, VA now and have family in Hawai'i. I thougth it was ironic of all the teams to draft Colt he landed here in my backyard (Redskins practice facilities are about 10 minutes from my house). I have seen Colt around town a few times, but was lucky enough to meet him at an autograph signing last month. He took time to talk to me for about 5 minutes and posed to take a picture with my 6 week old daughter. Of course we both were sporting our UH Brennan jerseys. I have had the pleasure of meeting various athletes over the years because of my job, but he ranks up there as one of the most personable and genuine nice guys. Hopefully I will get out to training camp, I really want to get the picture signed by him so I can frame it and put it in my daughters room.

Ashburn VA:

Between July 1-5, I drove on Asburn Village Parkway everyday to take my daughter to a robotics conference at the conference center in Landsowne. I can't believe the Redskins facility was so close,I did not think to look for it as I had heard Colt was in Hawaii anyway. We went to the Redskins' store at the Leesburg outlets but did not find any Colt merchandise.
