It's football season!
The University of Hawaii Warriors opened the 2009 footall season on Friday versus a very determined Central Arkansas team.
A few hours before the game started, a very determined group of Tsai-kos licked off the 2009 Tsai-ko-Gate season at Pearl Harbor!

On a more sobering note, Washington Redskins quarterback Colt Brennan survived the roster cut yesterday but must sit out this season on injured reserve. MRI revealed a torn labrum on the opposite hip from his first surgery as well as a torn hamstring.
While this is most disappointing to Colt and his fans, I, for one, would rather see him healthy and ready to play next season!
Get well, soon, Colt! Stay happy, get healthy and be assured of our prayers!

Speaking of football, here's some news about our favorite son Jordon Dizon - linebacker for the Detroit Lions:
Preseason versus the Bills:
The Bills started to move the ball effectively until they got a couple penalties. Eventually it became 3rd and 24 thanks to the penalties, giving the Bills a lot of ground to make up. Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick completed a pass that was only good for a gain of 9, but that was the least of the Bills' problems on this play. Jordon Dizon came in and forced a fumble that was recovered by Chris Roberson, giving the Lions the ball near midfield.
Linebacker
Winner: Jordon Dizon
In case you didn’t get the memo, Jordon Dizon’s “bust” label was a bit premature.
Dizon started on the weak side in place of the resting Ernie Sims. He led the team in tackles with six, five of which came in Buffalo’s second drive.
Dizon flew all over the field in the drive, making stops on running and passing plays alike, before capping the drive off by forcing a fumble on a short completion to Derek Schouman.
His performance, coupled with a strong preseason and strong praise from his coaches, should lay to rest any doubt that he can come in and contribute, perhaps sooner rather than later.
Jordon makes the 53 Man Roster Cut:
ALEX BAUMGARDNER
Jordan (sic) Dizon might find some success with the new defensive scheme Jim Schwartz is bringing. When they took him in the second round last spring it was no mystery he was undersized, but he made up for it with speed and work ethic. The read-and-react style might be more suitable for him than the Cover-2. Less thinking, more hitting.

Terrific get-together!
See you in Vegas...
Yes, too bad for Colt. Why is he having all these health issues when he seemed to be as healthy as a horse during his Warrior days? I truly wish him the best.
Looks like fun was had by all! Too bad I could not make the gathering. Shucks. Maybe next time!
gigi- He's healthy- these are injuries caused by contact. He got hurt when he was a Warrior too- but he played through them and started to get them fixed just before the NFL draft.
Now he is too valuable to play hurt.
