"Filanthropy", Friends, Food, Football and Fishing!

Saturday was a busy day!

I started at Big Save market  in Waimea where our Rotary Club collected food for the Food Pantry and donations for the Salvation Army Thanksgiving meal and turkey distribution. I saw a poster for son Byron's upcoming hula Ho'ike too.

While it was hot and sunny in Waimea, it was storming and flooding on other parts of Kauai and frequent power outages in Lihue made it difficult to get through TSA on my way to Oahu for the Warrior football game.

I did make it in time to deliver some tickets and get a quick bite to eat at the Tsai-ko Gate before they put the food away. My stadium buddy this time was MeiLing and we both spotted a fan a few rows in front of us with this cool shirt.

The Warriors started the game off with a great Haka and went on to win the game 24-6 over New Mexico State University.

We celebrated into the early hours with some Portuguese bean soup and locker room tales from Stephen Tsai.

When I got home this morning, I checked in with sister Norma in Florida. She has been caring for hubby Jim who had shoulder surgery earlier in the week. He sent her out for some night fishing and some "caregiver's relief". WOW... she bagged her limit!

Speckled trout, black drum and redfish. Congrats and good luck tonight!

And oh yeah, the Redskins won today!!

HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!

It does sound like a busy weekend! I was on cloud 9 when the Warriors won. Hope we face SMU in the Hawaii Bowl. One can dream, can't we?
