Rose Parade Redux

 

What an honor! 2005 Ku Kilakila, Kauai's All-Island Rose Parade Band members and parents were invited to join the 2009 All-State Rose Parade Band members and parents to meet the Tournament of Roses President Ronald H. "Corky" Conzonire and his wife Marilyn last night at the Kauai High Band Room. 

 

 Band Director Larry McIntosh and Band Booster President Robert Kawamura exchanged gifts with President Corky- including a set of Ku Kilakila uniforms! Tour coordinator Charlie Iwanaga accompanied the Conzonires on their trip to Hawaii.

 Everyone was treated to cake and a showing of the 2005 Band's outstanding performances at the Band Fest and the Parades. President Corky brought posters and pins for the band members including Ukuleleboi's classmates Matt and Michael. These boys were among the 5 band members who were only in 8th grade when they marched- a fantastic feat that was doubled when they also marched in the Macy's Parade with the All-State Band that same year!

Of course, thinking about the Rose Parade leads to our Rotary International float entry.
