Rotary Homeless Outreach Program Humanitarian of the Year - Kathryn "Trink" Martin
The Rotary Club of Kalepa Sunrise has selected Kathryn "Trink" Martin to receive the Humanitarian Award for Homeless Outreach Services for Kauai.
Kauai Economic Opportunity CEO MaBel Fujiuchi, Homeless Outreach Program Humanitarian of the Year "Trink" Martin, Assistant District Governor Laurie Yoshida, Rotary Club of Kalepa Sunrise President Vianne Tabata.
MaBel Fujiuchi's passionate introduction of "Trink" was one of the most moving tributes of the night. She reiterated how impossible this job would be for someone with less love, less compassion and less dedication. Many of Kauai's homeless suffer from mental and social anomalies that make personal interaction difficult but Trink is patient and persistent in her efforts to serve these people.

Hooo! What's with the blonde hair??? She looks like a geisha with that makeup. LOL.
MaBel has always had a flair! She was a school teacher for many years and is a major stakeholder in Kauai's ability to meet the needs of its people.
Is that person with the blonde hair a guy? Dang. What is up with the white pancake make-up?
Wow. Different. Not that different is a bad thing.
Is her name pronounced Mah-Bell or Mabel?
And, Trink? Must be a nickname. Is it short for a longer name? Similar to Tink for Tinkerbell?
MaBel is pronounced Mabel. She is famous for her hair and makeup - is married and a well-respected citizen of Kauai.
I do not know the origin of Trink's nickname but her service to the homeless population is extraordinary.

I am surprised that no one is commenting on the fact that the Rotaty Clubs are recognizing "everyday heroes".
There are many unsung heroes in this world. It is good that Rotary is recognizing some of them!

I did make a comment to that effect on your post of the fireman. Some like the service people are finally being recognized. And, since the service industry is one of the largest employment sectors . . .
And, what where you doing sleeping after that post of yours? Geez! You have to monitor your blog 24/7! Or as one of my kids told me, "I at passing my classes all week long -- 24/7." Huh? I just stood there and stared at him in disbelief.
