To me, this was an innovative hula- in the true spirit of the Mokihana Festival- encouraging NEW works in the Kahiko style. The Mahalo from the students of Ke Kula o Niihau was a chicken-skin moment!
Wonderful video of a powerful hula. You are right the choreography was very innovative.
Was the Mahalo planned? Whether or not, it was very heartfelt!
i wish i could have been there. This is one of the things I miss of Hawai'i.
